Duel Overload (Continued) | |
DUOV-EN040 | |
Rose Bell of Revelation Normal Spell Add 1 Plant monster with 2400 or more ATK from your Deck to your hand. You can banish this card from your GY; Special Summon 1 Plant monster with 2400 or more ATK from your hand. You can only use 1 "Rose Bell of Revelation" effect per turn, and only once that turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | While there are some decent Plant-Type monsters to search with this, it's restrained to Plant-Type monsters and not all of them are worth searching with this, or any other card. |
DUOV-EN039 | |
|
Phantasm Emperor Trilojig DARK / Fiend-Type Fusion / Level 10 / ATK 4000 / DEF 4000 3 Level 10 monsters If this card is Special Summoned, or if another monster is Special Summoned from the GY to your field while you control this monster: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; inflict damage to your opponent equal to half its original ATK. You can only use this effect of "Phantasm Emperor Trilojig" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Good luck finding 3 useful Level 10s to use as Fusion Material but even then, the best you can deal is half the original ATK of a monster per turn. Plus, we already have monsters with 4000 ATK and DEF that are more for less effort. |
DUOV-EN038 | |
|
Dangerous Frightfur Nightmary DARK / Fiend-Type Fusion / Level 10 / ATK 2000 / DEF 3000 1 "Edge Imp" monster + 2 "Fluffal" monsters Gains 300 ATK for each Fairy and Fiend monster in your GY, during your turn only. When this Fusion Summoned card destroys a monster by battle: You can send "Frightfur", "Fluffal", and/or "Edge Imp" monsters from your Deck to the GY, equal to the original Level of that destroyed monster. When your opponent activates a card or effect that targets this card on the field (Quick Effect): You can banish 1 "Frightfur" monster from your Extra Deck; negate that effect. ULTRA RARE |
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | The monster in the artwork certainly looks dangerous and nightmarish but the actual card sure isn't. It doesn't keep the gained ATK during all turns it's face-up, which leaves it vulnerable to attacks and with only 2000 ATK, there's plenty of monsters with lower Levels that can take it down. The other effects just aren't enough to make it useful either. |
DUOV-EN037 | |
Starving Venemy
Lethal Dose Dragon DARK / Dragon, Fusion and Pendulum / Level 8 / ATK 2800 / DEF 2000 / Scale 1 Once per turn, during your Main Phase: You can place 1 Venemy Counter on each face-up monster your opponent controls. All monsters on the field, except DARK Dragon monsters, lose 200 ATK for each Venemy Counter on the field. 3 DARK Pendulum Monsters Each time a card(s) is sent from the field to the GY, place 1 Venemy Counter on this card for each sent card. All monsters on the field, except DARK Dragon monsters, lose 200 ATK for each Venemy Counter on the field. Once per turn, during your Main Phase: You can negate the effects of all face-up monsters your opponent currently controls, until the end of this turn. If this card in the Monster Zone is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can place this card in your Pendulum Zone. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 3 |
Comments: | Finally, an evolution that isn't made worse than the original, not to mention a card that doesn't suck because its rating is the higest of the set so far. It's also pretty easy to bring out too and you'll have monsters to reuse later. Unfortunate that it's no stronger than the original, though. |
DUOV-EN036 | |
Dark Anthelion
Dragon DARK / Dragon, Xyz and Pendulum / Rank 7 / ATK 3000 / DEF 2500 / Scale 10 Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; halve its original ATK until the end of this turn (even if this card leaves the field). 2 Level 7 monsters If you can Pendulum Summon Level 7, you can Pendulum Summon this face-up card in your Extra Deck. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can detach 1 material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; until the end of this turn, its ATK becomes half its current ATK, and if it does, this card gains that lost ATK. If this card in the Monster Zone is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can place this card in your Pendulum Zone. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | This card is like a package you get that is bigger than what's inside it. You end up with a bunch of extra fluff and paying extra money for an item that is likely less than half that size. The card fits this description well because nothing it has to offer is useful apart from its Pendulum Scale, which is mitigated by how it is Summoned and its effects. |
DUOV-EN035 | |
|
Speedroid
Hexasaucer WIND / Machine-Type Penduum / Level 4 / ATK 100 / DEF 1600 / Scale 6 You can target 1 of your WIND Synchro Monsters that is banished or in your GY; return it to the Extra Deck. You can only use this effect of "Speedroid Hexasaucer" once per turn. Both players take any battle damage from attacks involving this card. Any battle damage from battles involving this card is halved. If this card is destroyed in the Pendulum Zone: You can Special Summon 1 face-up "Speedroid" Pendulum Monster from your Extra Deck. ULTRA RARE |
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | If sane people have learned anything about UFOs, it's that they never turn out to be a cool as they appear to be. This guy isn't even cool-looking to start with. |
DUOV-EN034 | |
|
Speedroid Marble
Machine WIND / Machine-Type Pendulum / Level 2 / ATK 200 / DEF 100 / Scale 1 Once per turn, when your Defense Position monster is targeted for an attack: You can change it to face-up Attack Position, also it cannot be destroyed by battle this turn (even if this card leaves the field). When this card is Normal Summoned: You can activate this effect; add 1 "Speedroid" monster from your Deck to your hand, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except WIND monsters. You can only use this effect of "Speedroid Marble Machine" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | They may be speedy but they don't have a chance in the Dueling world because of their poor effects and/or stats. It's pretty clear Konami has lost many or all of their marbles over the years with the cards they've made. The only redeeming thing about this card is its Pendulum Scale, which is almost as low as you can go in this game. |
DUOV-EN033 | |
Ojama Emperor LIGHT / Beast-Type Link / ATK 0 / Link-3 Active Link Arrow(s): Bottom, Bottom-Left and Bottom-Right 3 Beast monsters, including an "Ojama" monster While "Ojama Country" is in a Field Zone, this card gains 3000 ATK, also it cannot be destroyed by card effects. Your opponent takes any battle damage you would have taken from attacks on this card, instead. You can target 1 non-Link "Ojama" monster in your GY; Special Summon it, also for the rest of this turn, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters. You can only use this effect of "Ojama Emperor" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Perhaps one of the better Ojama monsters as all the others are pretty bad. Still, it requires a mediocre Field Spell to be in play to give it 3000 ATK and requires 3 Beasts, including an Ojama. |
DUOV-EN032 | |
Ferocious Flame Swordsman FIRE / Warrior-Type Link / ATK 1300 / Link-2 Active Link Arrow(s): Left and Bottom-Left 2 monsters with different names All Warrior monsters on the field gain 500 ATK. If this Link Summoned card is destroyed by battle, or by an opponent's card effect while in its owner's Monster Zone: You can target 1 non-Link Warrior monster in your GY; Special Summon it, but banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use this effect of "Ferocious Flame Swordsman" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | No point in bringing out a monster weaker than most monsters in the game just to revive another monster from the Grave when destroyed. It's even weaker than the original and its regular Effect counterpart. |
DUOV-EN031 | |
Kingyo Sukui Continuous Trap You can target 1 monster in your opponent's GY; excavate the top card of your Deck, and if it is a monster with the same Attribute as the target, add it to your hand, and if you do, shuffle the target into the Deck. Otherwise, send the excavated card to the GY, also destroy this card. You can only use this effect of "Kingyo Sukui" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Continuous or not, there's no way you'll get lucky often enough to make this useful. |
DUOV-EN030 | |
Awakening of the Possessed Continuous Spell Monsters you control gain 300 ATK for each different Attribute you control. "Charmer" and "Familiar-Possessed" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. If a Spellcaster monster(s) with 1850 original ATK is Normal or Special Summoned to your field: Draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Awakening of the Possessed" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | It benefits monsters I consider decent but it's not good enough to use with them. |
DUOV-EN029 | |
Armillyre, the Starleader Dragon DARK / Dragon-Type Link / ATK 1400 / Link-2 Active Link Arrow(s): Bottom-Left and Bottom-Right 2 Effect Monsters Cannot be used as Link Material. You can target 1 face-up monster this card points to; Special Summon 1 monster with the same original Level from your hand to your zone this card points to, in Defense Position, but negate its effects. You can only use this effect of "Armillyre, the Starleader Dragon" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Not only can't it not be Link Material but the monster you bring out is automatically in a more vulnerable position than your opponent's. Thus, this is wasted effort as a whole. |
DUOV-EN028 | |
|
Firebrand Hymnist FIRE / Pyro / Level 3 / ATK 800 / DEF 200 When this card is Normal Summoned: You can send cards from the top of your opponent's Deck to the GY, equal to the number of cards they control. If this card is Special Summoned: You can send cards from the top of your Deck to the GY, equal to the number of cards your opponent controls. You can only use this effect of "Firebrand Hymnist" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | So both effects are only helpful to specific Decks and it only has 800 ATK and 200 DEF? Worthless. |
DUOV-EN027 | |
|
Angraecum Umbrella WATER / Spellcaster-Type Tuner / Level 3 / ATK 500 / DEF 1500 When this card is Normal Summoned: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 Level 4 or lower monster in your GY; Special Summon it in Defense Position, but negate its effects, also for the rest of this turn, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Synchro Monsters. ULTRA RARE |
Rating: | 2 |
Comments: | Or just use cards that revive monsters from the Grave for free like Monster Reborn. At least it's also a Tuner. |
DUOV-EN026 | |
Tenyi Spirit - Sahasrara LIGHT / Wyrm-Type Link / ATK 3000 / Link-4 Active Link Arrow(s): Top, Bottom, Top-Right Bottom-Right 2+ Wyrm monsters While you control a face-up non-Effect Monster, monsters your opponent controls cannot target Effect Monsters for attacks, also your opponent cannot target Effect Monsters on the field with card effects. (Quick Effect): You can target 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls; Special Summon 1 "Tenyi Spirit Token" (Wyrm/LIGHT/Level 4/ATK ?/DEF 0). This Token's ATK becomes that targeted monster's original ATK. You can only use this effect of "Tenyi Spirit - Sahasrara" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | It requires Wyrm monsters specifically and I know those are pretty underwhelming at best. Plus, it's a Link-4 monster so that generally means 4 of them are needed, or you can waste other monsters instead. The effects don't justify using it at all. |
DUOV-EN025 | |
Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi WATER / Zombie-Type Link / ATK 2900 / Link-4 Active Link Arrow(s): Left, Right, Bottom-Left and Bottom-Right 2+ Zombie monsters You can only control 1 "Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi". Negate any activated effects of your opponent's banished monsters. If a monster is Special Summoned from the GY, or a monster effect is activated in the GY (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 other face-up monster on the field; change its ATK to 0, and if you do, negate its effects. You can use this effect of "Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi" up to twice per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | So it doesn't even negate the effect that triggered its own effect in the first place? What's the point then? Plus, being a Link-4 monster, it's more effort to get the effect than Reptilianne Medusa, which can also use its effect multiple times per turn. |
DUOV-EN024 | |
Sky Striker Ace - Zeke DARK / Machine-Type Link / ATK 1500 / Link-2 Active Link Arrow(s): Top and Bottom 2 monsters, including a "Sky Striker Ace" monster Must be Link Summoned. You can only Special Summon "Sky Striker Ace - Zeke(s)" once per turn. If this card is Link Summoned: You can target 1 face-up monster on the field; banish it until your opponent's next End Phase. Once per turn: You can target 1 other card you control; this card gains 1000 ATK, then, send the targeted card to the GY. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | Their aces continue to show that they are not airworthy and should be grounded indefinitely. |
DUOV-EN023 | |
Lib the World Key Blademaster LIGHT / Cyberse-Type Link / ATK 2000 / Link-2 Active Link Arrow(s): Left and Bottom-Left 2 monsters Can only be Link Summoned while you have a "World Legacy" card in your GY. You can only use each of the following effects of "Lib the World Key Blademaster" once per turn. ● During your Main Phase: You can Set 1 "World Legacy" Spell/Trap directly from your Deck, but it cannot be activated this turn while you have no "World Legacy" monster in your GY. ● If this Link Summoned card is sent to the GY as Link Material: You can shuffle 1 card on the field into the Deck. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | What's with all the restraints? I already wasted 2 monsters to bring this out so I should have as few restraints as possible. Instead, this one has a restraint everywhere you look except the last effect, which sucks anyway. |
DUOV-EN022 | |
Abyss Actor - Hyper Director DARK / Fiend-Type Link / ATK 800 / Link-1 Active Link Arrow(s): Bottom 1 "Abyss Actor" Pendulum Monster You can target 1 card in your Pendulum Zone; Special Summon it, then place 1 "Abyss Actor" Pendulum Monster with a different name, from your Deck or face-up Extra Deck, to your Pendulum Zone, also you cannot Normal or Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Abyss Actor" monsters. You can only use this effect of "Abyss Actor - Hyper Director" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | We already have a Trap Card to bring out Pendulum Monsters from the Pendulum Zone and it doesn't cost you a single monster. |
DUOV-EN021 | |
Predaplant Verte Anaconda DARK / Plant-Type Link / ATK 500 / Link-2 Active Link Arrow(s): Bottom-Left and Bottom-Right 2 Effect Monsters You can target 1 face-up monster on the field; it becomes DARK until the end of this turn. You can pay 2000 LP and send 1 "Fusion" or "Polymerization" Normal or Quick-Play Spell from your Deck to the GY; this effect becomes that Spell's effect when that card is activated, also, you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn. You can only use each effect of "Predaplant Verte Anaconda" once per turn. ULTRA RARE |
|
Rating: | 1 |
Comments: | There's no point in copying an effect if you can't use the effect that turn. Plus, it costs 2000 LP when most Fusion cards are searchable already. The 500 ATK makes things even worse. |
