Yu-Gi-Oh: The Dark Side of Dimensions (2)
At the ruins, Aigami, or rather Diva as the people call him wants to use the power to avenge their leader but the people warn not to let his emotions control him. Diva touches the stone carvings and decides to head off to Domino City to get revenge despite protest from a little girl. However, Diva isn't, alone in the travels as someone else joins him in the mall and tries to talk him out of it as it's not what Master Shin would've wanted. Diva refuses to listen, revealing his friend's name as Manny and uses vanquishing evil as the reason for his actions, claiming Yugi Muto is most evil. Manny disappears after learning that what they've been looking for has been found. Meanwhile, Kaiba arrives in Egypt via his jet and heads inside to learn that the Millennium Puzzle's pieces have all been found. Sure enough, after arriving at the spot where Atem left the world, Kaiba finds the pieces just as securely placed as he had requested. Sensing movement, Kaiba now orders the pieces to be loaded into the helicoptor and plans to assemble it today.
Mokuba isn't so confident, recalling just how long it took Yugi to assemble it. Unfortunately, security measures are delaying the transport of the Millennium Puzzle pieces so Kaiba asks their visitor to show themselves. Diva makes himself known and explains that his quick travels is due to the magic he posseses. Kaiba figures Diva came for the Millennium Puzzle and Diva is willing to test Kaiba's protest but not before one of Kaiba's men attempts to stop him with a gun (yes, an actual gun unlike the 4Kids dubbed episodes of the TV series). Diva also notes that he and his spirits are members of the Plana (however you spell it) and demonstrates how his cube works by transporting the guard that threatened him earlier, prompting the other onlookers to flee. Diva considers Kaiba worst of all for trying to control consumers but Mokuba realizes that Diva is responsible for the disappearance of the other people.
Diva attempts to send Kaiba away but Kaiba stays put and gets his half of duel preparations underway. Diva has other methods, like his cards and Kaiba wants to get on with the duel so Diva decides to use his own technology to duel. Kaiba draws and is surprised to learn he doesns't have to make Tribute Summons thanks to Diva's Dimension Summoning methods. Plus, Kaiba can choose its ATK and DEF but cannot exceed the ATK and DEF on the card. This gives Kaiba more confidence as he Dimension Summons Krystal Dragon (0000) in Attack Mode, then restores its stats to 2500 and 1000 respectively. Finally he sets 2 cards to end his turn before Diva adds that in Dimension Duels, players don't take Battle Damage if their monster is destroyed, they take damage equal to its ATK. Diva draws and plays Vijam the Cubic Seed (0000) in Attack Mode and has no intention of raising its ATK and DEF (since it doesn't have any).
Diva sets 4 cards to end his turn. Kaiba draws, surprised that Diva seemingly cowers before power while he himself embraces it, then Dimension Summons a 2nd Krystal Dragon in Attack Mode. His attack causes Vijam to disappear and criple the Krystal Dragon that attacked it, leaving without any effects or the ability to attack. It's a good thing Kaiba has a 2nd KD and attacks directly with it, prompting Diva to activate Cubic Ascension to Special Summmon a 2nd Vijam the Cubic Seed and make it the attack target. As a result, the 2nd KD is also crippled but Kaiba activates Dragon's Orb to prevent his monsters from losing their effects, then uses both KDs' effects to get 2 Dragon-Type monsters from his Deck to his hand. Furthermore, he Special Summons one of the monsters he added, Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode. His attack causes Diva to activate Cubic Rebirth to Special Summon Vijam the Cubic Seed while also letting Kaiba Special Summon 2 Blue-Eyes White Dragons (3000) in Attack Mode.
However, due to CR's effect, each of their ATKs become 0 and their effects are negated. With nothing else left to do, Kaiba sets 1 card to end his turn. Diva draws and trades Vijam for Dark Garnex the Cubic Beast (0000) in Attack Mode, which in turn gains 1000 ATK for being Summoned using Vijam. His attack takes out one of Kaiba's monsters before Diva decides to revert DG back to Vijam, then sets 1 card and trades all three Vijams for Blade Garoodia the Cubic Beast (0000) in Attack Mode and thus gains 2000 ATK for being Special Summoned in this manner, raising its ATK to 2000. His new monster can attack twice (though they don't tell you that) and takes out both of Kaiba's remaining Blue-Eyes monsters before letting Diva add a new Cubic monster from his Deck to his hand. Diva isn't done yet as once his Blade Garoodia converts back into 3 Vijams, Diva transforms thems into Buster Gundil the Cubic Behemoth (0000) in Attack Mode, which gains 3000 ATK to 3000 for being Special Summoned in this manner.
Since Buster Gundil can attack three times, Diva uses the first two attacks to take down Kaiba's Krystal Dragons, leaving Kaiba several feet away from the duel and down to 3000 LPs. On Diva's third direct attack, Kaiba activates Counter Gate to negate the attack, then draw 1 card and Special Summon it if it's a Monster Card. Diva isn't willing to let that happen and activates Cubic Mandala to revive Kaiba's Krystal Dragons, Blue-Eyes White Dragons and Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon but without their effects. Kaiba refuses to let the duel end this way and is determined to duel Yugi again and draws, tapping into the very ground he stands on to get it. Next he Tributes three of his monsters for Obelisk the Tormentor (4000) in Attack Mode, leaving Manny and Diva confused since they confirmed the God Cards were destroyed. Regardless, Kaiba uses its effect to destroy his monsters and deal Diva damage equal to Obelisk's ATK.
Since Obelisk is not any ordinary monster, it doesn't lose its effects and takes down Buster Gundil, leaving Diva on the ground and down to 1000 LP. Finally, the puzzle is ready to be transported and Mokuba hops on board the case as it is lifted into the air by helicopter. Diva refuses to let them get away and teleports on top of the case to take two pieces of the Millennium Puzzle before Mokuba knocks him off. Kaiba aborts the duel and flies away, declaring their duel to be continued. Meanwhile, Manny returns to the excavation site to find the Millennium Ring peeking out from under the rubble. While he figures that out, Joey finds himself on top of the Kaiba Craft 3 blimp (in an obvious dream sequence) where Kaiba ridicules him as always, taunting him by not being worthy enough to get the new Duel Disk. Joey takes it out on Kaiba but falls off the blimp, only to be back in reality and having fallen backwards in his chair.
We find Yugi giving a speech that had been interrupted but despite Joey's claim that no one is listening, he finds Tristan moved to tears and needing tissues. In the back of the room, Diva is greeted by the little girl again, revealed as Sera, whom already knows what will happen should they manage to reassemble the Millennium Puzzle. Diva isn't worried as he just needs to get rid of the body first but when Sera protests that he's going to far, Diva gives her a piece of the Millennium Puzzle. After rehersal ends, Joey suggests they chill but Diva interrupts them as they decide to go bowl and get lunch, where Diva plays down his dueling skills (a lot like Marik if you ask me). While on the crosswalk, the group discuss dueling where Diva plays being nervous about facing off against Yugi but accepts the idea anyway but Yugi suggests a tourmament instead.
At Kaiba Corp, as Kaiba's theme music plays, preparations are underway and Kaiba wants to have an exhibition duel to showcase the new techology and heads out once more, this time to the space station high above the Earth. Once inside, he gets the machine to work assembling the Millennium Puzzle while having to sit through a lengthy explanation he already knows about. In just over 5 hours, Kaiba will get his glory by reviving Atem.
